We filmed the second video (short one) yesterday at Matraville where Kayu lives. We met up at about 1.30pm and went to Matraville together by bus. Even though we were very tired of long trip to Matraville (takes about 45mins from central), as soon as we arrived Matraville, the fresh air and beautiful view of sea cheered us up. We brought Kayu’s dog, Arbie outside and looked for good location to shoot the film. There were two locations that we wanted to shoot. One was a small park near the roadway and another one was a huge park. We decided to shoot the film at the huge park because we thought that shooting at the small park can be dangerous for the dog as the park is near the roadway. Moreover, the huge park had nicer view than the small park so our group members all agreed to shoot there. After setting up the camera and all equipment, we started to shoot the film. However, the main actor, Kayu’s dog Arbie was very excited to be out from home and kept running and running. Arbie was supposed to look like depressed and lonely as Kayu’s dog was acting for an abandoned dog but Arbie was very energetic. Therefore, we had to wait Arbie for a while to be calm and relax. We mainly used mid shot, wide shot, pan and one close up shot at the end. Also, we had to try not to show our shadow in the frame. After having a lot of NGs, we were able to finish the filming after 2 hours.
I realised that filming animals is very difficult and hard job. The film did not perfectly approach what we had planned but we all did the best to shoot good advertisement.
