Short Film Proposal - Advertisement

Essential Idea:

Our group’s another short video project is an advertisement of the campaign ‘I think Therefore I am’ approaching the issue of abandoned animals and the awareness

A depressed and lonely white dog walks around in a park in Matraville. The dog doesn’t know where he is and where to go. The dog finds two girls walking in the park and follows them. The two girls are very embarrassed and ignore the dog with an annoyed look.
The lonely dog tries to find other friends in the park. The dog finds a girls sitting and reading a book in the park. The dog goes closer to her and gives interests to her. But the girl makes contortions of the face and walks away from the dog. The dog keeps following her and shows interests to her. She finally sees that the dog looks very lonely and needs to help. She holds up the dog and hugs the dog. They smiles and be happy friends.

The text ‘I Think Therefore I am’ comes up in the screen and campaign name, supporting company name and team members name are displayed in the black screen.

This advertisement tries to approach the meaning of the title ‘I Think Therefore I am’ saying that animals have feelings as humans do so they have rights to live well and need to be protected and shouldn’t be abandoned.

Audience:

This advertisement is for everyone in Australia but mainly for international students in Australia, ages between 17 to early 20s because they are less aware of animal welfare so they will be the target audience of this video.

Context:

Internet banner ads (eg. In Yahoo and MSN), DVD and YouTube

Usually, young people don’t watch TV very often. Instead, they use internet and love to watch YouTube videos. Therefore, this advertisement should be placed on the internet such as well known searching website, Yahoo and MSN so that young students can approach this advertisement easily. Also, the advertisement is made on DVD. It is distributed to several universities such as UTS, UNSW and Sydney University. This advertisement is about giving people awareness of abandoned animals so putting DVDs on a big screen in the campus restaurants or lecture buildings is a very effective way to educate to young people to have their big interest and attention through this advertising. The advertisement is definitely placed in the campaign website and the supporting company (bigcatmedia) website as well.
