The idea of our identity.

In another subject, comm 419, we need to set up a media company. And this company is called Big Cat Media. This name is actually not the first name we come up with. Our initial idea is called IOPA (International Organization for Protection of Animals), however, it turned out that the name is bit too long and was not easy to remember. So, we change to Big Cat Media, which our logo is a white tiger. It is becasue tigers belong to big cat groups, and they are powerful that makes our company identity becomes more dynamic but why we did't make it becoming Tiger Media?? Because, big cats are a large group of animals and tigers are just one kind of it.

So, under our company, we created a campaign named Mate In Love based on the work done by RSPCA in Australia. The name is in a hope that human could become the mate of animals with love and care. This idea is correponded to the work in RSPCA that they want to protect animals and their welfare. And through the issue of our products, the social awareness of animal welfare could be raisen.

We 've also created a slogan for our campaign which is I Think, Therefore I Am. This is actually the quote from a famous philosopher, Jean Paul Satre. We hope that the meaning of it could apply to both human and animals. It is because animals have feeling and emotions as well, they can feel just like what we do. Thus, we should show respect to them.

Hello:)

Hi! This is my first piece of blog. For comm416 this subject, my group is going to do something related to RSPCA (Royal Societies for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) in Australia because we've created a campaign based on the work of RSPCA which is promoting the animal welfare and animal protection. This blog is going to do updates on what recent process of our video. As we are going to do 3 videos, 1 long and 2 short. The long one is going to do in RSPCA!

Talking about keeping a pet, I think quite a number of people are interested in it and the most common way of getting one is to buy one. I have a dog which I got around 3 years ago. But then, I didn't really bought it, instead I adopted it from SPCA in Hong Kong which I still needed to pay for it.( The name of the organization is a bit different from Australia and Hong Kong)

As I remembered, before I adopted it, my dog got serious skin problems and he was just less than 1 year old. Luckily, maybe because he was still like a baby dog and didn't stay for a long time in his previous owner, he seemed not feeling any sadness and not afraid of strangers.

Until now, though he's quite naughty in sometimes but still he's still normal and happy. And I don't see any difference between adopting and buying a dog. Of course, there is a lower chance for you to get a baby dog just borned like in the pet shop. But in fact, I think it is more safe to adopt because animals in RSPCA are often desexed and fully injected with vaccines that keep them healthy. In our video, other than the interview to be done with staff in RSPCA, we will also film the condition of animals in RSPCA.
